This paper contains a first step towards extending the Graph Minors Project of Robertson and Seymour to group-labelled graphs. For a finite abelian group Γ and Γ-labelled graph G, we describe the class of Γ-labelled graphs that do not contain a minor isomorphic to G.

The order graph of a group $G$, denoted by $Gamma^*(G)$, is a graph whose vertices are subgroups of $G$ and two distinct vertices $H$ and $K$ are adjacent if and only if $|H|big{|}|K|$ or $|K|big{|}|H|$. We prove that a binary matroid with huge branch-width contains the cycle matroid of a large grid as a minor. This implies that an infinite antichain of binary matroids cannot contain the cycle matroid of a planar graph. The result also holds for any other finite field. © 2007 Elsevier Inc. We prove that for fixed bipartite circle graph H, all line graphs with sufficiently large rank-width (or clique-width) must contain an isomorphic copy of H as a pivotminor. To prove this, we introduce graphic delta-matroids. Graphic delta-matroids are minors of delta-matroids of line graphs and they generalize graphic or cographic matroids.
